part i.
Character name: Deacon Frost
Fandom: Blade
Species: Vampire
Character powers:
Blade-style vampires do not reinvent the wheel of vampiric lore, but they have some quirks. They are highly physical beings, with super strength, super speed and super agility to go along with super reflexes. They are capable of throwing people across rooms, leaping from the rooftop of a building to the next without causing themselves damage, displaying short bursts of impossible speed, and near gymnastic fighting prowess. All of this takes training and honing, of course, but it's within the realms of possibility. Frost, though he prefers to use lackeys and hired thugs to do his dirty work, is quite capable.

Healingwise, he does not heal instantly, but he does heal quickly and with great capacity. Severed limbs will take a few days to regrow, but once this occurs, they do so perfectly and with all their faculties. Fire doesn't kill him unless allowed to burn right down to ashes, and he can recover from blackened crispiness to normal within that 'few days' period. The methods of murdering him are detailed below, but to conclude this paragraph with things that have no effect, this includes religious icons and anything not detailed below.

Decapitation, burning until ash, a silver stake through the heart, direct exposure to sunlight, repeated and severe exposure to UV light, and a mouthful of garlic will end him. Anything else, he can recover from.

Physical differences include death-like paleness and fangs. Said fangs are ever present and do not conceal easily, and can grow longer in moments of heightened agitation/aggression. Similarly, Frost's usual blunt human fingernails can grow into sharper, longer versions of themselves. For some reason.

Blood-drinking isn't exactly a power (although it is very necessary towards healing swiftly), but it bears detailing. Frost requires blood to live, and without it, he'll be overcome by 'the thirst' and become almost incoherent and unresponsive without it save for taking the actions necessary to feed. This universe's style of vampire are particularly messy drinkers, almost displaying animal tendencies towards feeding - even Frost, although he sees nothing wrong with it.

Vampires age with such slowness that it can mistaken as immortality. Frost hasn't aged at all since he was turned in the 50s.

part ii.
1.) Is it acceptable for your character to be mind-controlled or persuaded? How susceptible are they to mind control, hypnotism, or suggestion?
Vampires are kind of enhanced humans, so I imagine that Deacon might have abnormally strong willpower when it comes to this, but not totally infallible. Let's discuss!

2.) Is it acceptable for your character to have their mind read? Does this include traumatic memories? What is their mind like (disturbing, orderly, joyful, surprisingly empty, etc.)? If the character has psychic walls or preventative measures against psychic interference, please explain.
Same as the above.

OOCly, I am fine with his mind being read. His thoughts are generally sort of organised, everything in compartments, almost eerily controlled considering how he otherwise presents himself, superficially. However, there is the constant predatorial nagging too that he has a decent grasp on, notions about territory, about feeding, which he can let off the leash at will.

3.) Are thoughts mentioned in narration acceptable for a telepath to pick up?
Again, it depends! Let us speak about it.

4.) What about emotions, in the case of an empath? What sort of general emotional reading would such a character receive from yours?
Feel free to pick up on the fact that Deacon is a stone-cold sociopath with zero sympathy for other people. Humans inspire absolutely nothing in him, emotionally, except for a sort of aloof disdain and general hunger. Around others he can stand conversation with, he is calmly interested. However, he does have a temper and it can spark towards anyone, and he can also enjoy a mixture of both rage and joy when he wants to.

5.) Are there any aspects of your character's mind, emotions, or memories you would like to be picked up, mentioned, or used in character? Conversely, is there anything that should not be noticed, or at least never mentioned?
No preferences either way. His background in his application can be used for inspiration.

part iii.
1.) Physically speaking, what stands out about your character? Imposing size? Physical scarring? Tattoos?
Deacon Frost stands at 5'7", and is physically somewhere in his early 30s, but older than that. From his birth in 1928 through to his death in 1998, that would make him 70 and change, in reality, but doesn't look it or even really sound like it. He has dark hair and very pale, white skin, as is common for his kind of vampire, and slate-blue eyes. He has a scar at the edge of his right eyebrow that is only significant in that it marks him quite plainly as a 'turned' vampire, which is an important status detail from his own world.

2.) Is your character immune to any of the following: poisons, chemical agents, telekinetic influence, radiation, or types of illnesses?
As a vampire, he is impervious to the sicknesses that humans are troubled with. Things that are physically abusive, such as corroding agents and radiation, he is not immune to, but can heal from. Poisons that are tailored towards vampires would work on him. No blanketing statement here - ask me!

3.) Is your character physiologically different from a human in any way? This can include their blood, skin, hair, et cetera being made up of something unusual or simply differing in construction and durability.
He is less destructible than a human generally, and is very pale skinned due to. Vampire. He has fangs that don't go away and can lengthen during moments of aggression, as can his fingernails.

4.) Are you amenable to having your character be harmed in any way? How far are you comfortable with injury to you character going? Does this include being fed on by vampires, willingly or unwillingly?
I am very amenable. He heals very well, even if attacked (instead of being killed) by vampire-specific things, so I don't mind what happens in this way. Also, he asks for it, a lot of the time.

5.) Is it acceptable for other characters with abilities of shapeshifting or disguise to imitate your character? Does this include ability mimicry?
Sure, but let me know so I can stalk. Ability mimicry is probably a no-go but it depends on how your mimicry works, I guess.

part iv.
1.) Can your character's presence or aura be noticed by other characters, and how would it look/feel to them? How would it manifest to a character with no supernatural abilities, if at all?
They can know he's a vampire, and also relatively young - about 70 years old. I also like the notion that as far as auras go, his is rather big and intrusive without being bright, just sort of a stretching, languid shadow, as if he is bigger than he is.

2.) Can your character be affected by magic spells and curses?
Inasmuch as a vampire can be, which is probably the same as a human.

3.) Can your character be affected by sin and corruption, and be tempted toward expressing their darker urges (of whatever flavor)?
Yes.

4.) What sort of sins is the character prone toward, and how might they best be tempted, if you are interested in such an event?
Pride, wrath, greed, gluttony.

5.) Are you amenable to the character receiving prophetic visions, including as part of a plot?
Yes.

part v.
1.) Is threadjacking allowed? Under what circumstances?
Yes. All circumstances.

2.) Is it acceptable for canonmates that are updated further than yours to inform your character of events yours has not yet experienced?
Yes.

3.) Are there triggering or upsetting topics you would like other characters to avoid mentioning to yours for the sake of continued comfort (racist words, homophobia, self-injury, etc.)?
No, characters are characters. I would also like to note that Deacon can have his more bigoted moments himself with regard to humans, which can seem an analogue to racism and classism. He will also pretty much not associate with humans unless given some reason to mess with them. I have other characters!!

4.) Are there any additions you would like us to make to this survey?
Nein.
